Q: How often is a DOT test required?
A: - All Commercial vehicles now require DOT to be carried out every year..

Q: I have a 4x4 'jeep', do I need NCT or DOT?
A: - if your vehicle type is 'private' you need to test it at NCT centre, if your vehicle type is 'commercial' you need to test it at DOT centre..

Q: What is required for the Commercial Vehicle test?
A: 1. The original Certificate of Registration and Licensing, formerly called Vehicle Licensing Certificate (VLC), also called form RF-101, informally called the Tax Book or the Log Book
Note: this must be produced for the test to take place, copies are not acceptable
2. The Appropriate Fee.

Q: How much does it cost?

Q: Do I have to remove tools and items from the cargo area for the DOT test?
A: - no..

Q: There is no spare tyre in my van, will it pass the DOT test?
A: - yes. however, if you have the spare tyre loose in the back of the vehicle, and not in its designed location, it will fail the DOT test..

Q: If my vehicle fails the test, can I repair it at M50 Truck & Van Centre
A: - yes. we can service and repair your vehicle..

Q: Do you carry out pre-tests
A: - yes. we recommend our One Stop Shop facility, to have vehicle checked, tested and serviced at the same time, which virtually guarantees first time pass, and minimizes the time off the road..

Q: Can I get replacement van while my vehicle is off the road
A: - yes. we have replacement vans available at competitive rates..

From Dublin Port: Take Port Tunnel from Dublin 2, once out of Dublin Tunnel, take M50 South, then take M50 Exit 5 to N2 towards Finglas and the City. Drive to the first roundabout, turn around and head back towards M50. Turn left to industrial estate.

From the South/West: Take M50 North, then take M50 Exit 5 to N2 towards Finglas and the City. Drive to the first roundabout, turn around and head back towards M50. Turn left to industrial estate.
